I am an English mother tongue translator/proofreader working from Spanish and Italian.
I have a degree in Modern Iberian and Latin-American Regional Studies, and a postgraduate Diploma in Translation and am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists. I have a bilingual background having grown up speaking both English and Spanish at home. I also speak Italian having spent a number of years living and working in Italy as a translator.
With over 20 years' experience in translation, my work covers a wide variety of fields and industries. These include but are not limited to: education (academic certificates, calls for applications for admission to degree programs, general university information); hospitality (restaurant descriptions, menus, hotel descriptions); fashion and perfumery; tenders and contract documents; incident reports (fire damage); business correspondence; general correspondence; company descriptions (Chambers of Commerce); corporate procedures; technical translations; company websites; marketing.
I take great pride in my work, and set myself high standards when it comes to the accuracy and readability of my translations, taking time to thoroughly research terminology to ensure a high quality translation. I am proud of the relationships I have built up over the years with agencies and clients, based on my friendly yet professional approach, the quality of my work, meticulous attention to detail and prompt delivery. I am always willing to go the extra mile, sometimes taking on assignments at very short notice or with short delivery times.
