When I was a junior student I fell in love with Japanese cartoons and animation, which made me study in Japan.  I went to the Takushoku University in Tokyo and majored international business. One of the reasons why I decided to go to the Japanese university was to experience the culture and real-life of Japan. I was actively engaged in the various activities to learn more about Japan. I was the leader of the Korean students association and started mentoring foreign freshmen on how to adapt to overseas living.

I started my translation work since then. There were so many activities and events which need translations such as convention, exhibition, seminar, symposium and business meeting. It was such a good opportunity for me to make my living and tuition fees in Japan. I had more than one hundred jobs during my university time.

After I graduated from my degree in the university, I came back to Korea and started my professional translation career working as a freelance linguist. For about one and a half year, I was asked by Doopedia to join their encyclopedia project as a translator and at the same as a proofreader.

Currently, I am leading the Japanese translation team in Gaudium Associate as a full-time freelancer linguist taking responsibilities for the Japanese matters from the sourcing of art collection to the exhibition.

I always try to be functional, meticulous and precise in my job because that is the core of success in translation business.
