To whom it may concern,
I am a native French translator/editor with 20 years’ professional experience. My target language is French, and my source language, English. I’m based in Seattle, even though I spend several months in France each year.
As you can see from my resume below, I have a Master’s Degree from the Sorbonne, and my Ph.D. preliminaries as well. My background is in English, Linguistics, and American Studies, and I also had formal, intensive translation-training for two years, when preparing for the literary competitive entrance exam to the prestigious French Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS). I passed the written part of this competitive exam, thanks mostly to my grades in translation from and into English.
I specialize in Web site translation/localization, press releases, marketing and advertising, management training and quality control, non-governmental organizations, as well as in literature and the arts. I translated philosophy, art history and psychoanalysis for publication.
I look forward to working with you in the future.
