When a student, I had practical training in the United Arab Emirated where I worked as an interpreter and translator for a US company.
After graduating from the Kharkiv National University I served in the military at the Foreign Relations Department of Ukraine's Ministry of Defense where I interpreted negotiations between military delegations and translated military documentation.
Upon demobilization, I worked for the translation department of Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. My duties included interpreting of high-level negotiations and press conferences, as well as translation of various documentation such as talking points for Mr. Borys Tarasyuk who was Ukraine's Minister of Foreign Affairs in the year 2000, international treaties, Ukrainian legislation, etc. I was able to gain invaluable experience of interpreting and translating for famous people.
After I quit working for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, I worked as a translator on the Chernobyl NPP Shelter Project at the Ukrainian Chernobyl Center.
I have been around US native speakers a lot. I have interpreted a lot of court hearings in Ukrainian courts. Since 2000, I have been working as a freelance translator in the fields shown in my profile. I have always been trying to improve my professional skills.
