Bio
www.alfabetatranslations.com.

I worked for 5 years at Ernst & Young International where I mainly dealt with financial statements, tax and auditing documentation, along with business and finance related material.

At Ernst & Young I had the privilege of working under Ronald Hendricks, whom not only I but a lot of people --especially in Mexico-- will remember and acknowledge as a leading authority in the type of translation work undertaken by major accounting firms. Ronald has now retired but ...my respects anyway, and thanks for your teachings and support. Work at Ernst & Young was always high-pressure stuff as there was almost always a tight deadline to be met and not a second to be wasted. This knocks you into shape as a translator and I am thankful for that.

After leaving Ernst & Young I worked in an Embassy for 5 years where I was called upon to translate quite a lot Economics, International Relations, Agricultural, and Customs type documentation. I also did a fair amount of consecutive interpreting and also got to translate speeches and conference type things. I am now training to become a simultaneous interpreter also.

I have a B.A. in French fom the University of Kent at Canterbury. I am pretty much bilingual in English and Spanish given that my parents are South American and Spanish was always the first language at home. I have a decent working knowledge of French.
