My name is Tian Daijun, 28, Chinese. I have been working as a translator and interpretor for around 7 years in the fields of international trade; international education association; agriculture (plant sciences part); road construction; economic laws. Of course, as a linguist, I am also interested in poetry and literature (about 150,000 words have been published C/E).
Since 2000, I have been working in the field of translation/interpretation between Shanghai and Guangzhou in China. Most of my work is relevant to interpretation for certain American and European companies in China (I can not show their companies' names here because I have not got the permission from them). We have good relationship , what is more , they get familar to chinese culture in the light of business field. 2 years ago, I got a chance to work in Africa, and we reached an agreement , say, I only work for them in part-time, urgent jobs will be sent to me through E-mail or Fax.
I do love literature translation, which, in my not-so-long experience, is an unexpected feelings, in other words, only those literature translators can feel or enjoy. That is why I have been struggling on the way to translation for around 6 years (I graduated from Hubei University , China), though it is not my making-a-living career.
Up to now, I have translated around 300,000 words translation, half of them have been , fortunately , published in some magazines and New paper. As for the rest, I do not wanna them to be published because of the difference between my intention and the publishers' interest.
Now, I am working in Africa on behalf of Chinese government. And this is a fantastic continent , especially for a writer or translator to live and work. Of course, I have published some articles in English (and the Chinese version is waiting for a good chance from Chinese Publishing agency).
Any detailed information or cooperation intent will be appreciated.
