I am currently working as a community face-to-face interpreter (Polish <> English), mainly handling medical assessments for benefit purposes and housing support. I am also a volunteer interpreter for Citizen's Advice Bureau.
I have previously worked as a telephone interpreter for HM Revenue & Customs and the Department for Work and Pensions. The majority of calls I handled were regarding Tax Credits, Child Benefit, Jobseekers' Allowance applications and Tax Office queries.
During my year abroad I worked full-time as an in-house French to English translator for an aviation company in France, carrying out the following projects:
Translation:

- instructions for crisis communication
- guides for factory workers
- non-technical manuals
- business communication
- presentations (mainly product information and financial results)
- memos, e-mails etc.
Translation checking:
- technical guides and manuals
- incident reports
