My work experience in English and Spanish as a technical translator, court interpreter and trade journal editor spans three decades. Throughout my professional career, translation has always been the bedrock of my work load, and I have become proficient in many different technical fields, particularly engineering, construction and apparel/textile manufacturing.
As the managing editor of La Bobina and El Nuevo Constructor magazines, I developed keen proofing and editing skills, in addition to honing my translation skills. Happily for me, my editorial work involved many trips to manufacturing sites throughout Latin America. From day one of my first editorial trip, I realized I loved industrial and mechanical engineering.
I am a member of the American Translators Association, National Association of Judiciary Interpreters and Translators, and Tennessee Association of Professional Interpreters and Translators, an organization I co-founded in 2003.
