After studying English and Czech languages at a university while teaching English, I switched to translation and interpreting. I was employed at the time but I also started focusing on translations and have qualified for and become a sworn interpreter soon afterwards. As a part-time translator I worked mostly for agencies and completed a two-semester training for Sworn Interpreters at the Law Faculty of Charles University in Prague followed by a one-semester follow-up at the same University. As a freelancer (since 2004) I have continued to work for agencies as well as for direct clients and regularly attended courses for translators and sworn interpreters. I was a member of the Czech professional association - JTP (Union of Translators and Interpreters) and I am still a member of Komora soudnich tlumocniku (Chambers of Sworn Interpreters). Currently, my jobs include mainly localization of softwares and web sites as well as translation of other IT/marketing content.
