Bio
I was born in Paris, France where I spent the first years of my life. Then I lived mainly in Canada until my late thirties, except for a two-year stay in New York City (from 1979 to 1981) where I worked as a freelance journalist.

I left Canada in 1992 to take a field position with the United Nations (ex-Yugoslavia).
I relocated to Switzerland in 1994 and have been living in this country ever since.

Education:
Bachelor degrees in law (B.C.L, 1984) and political science (B.A. Honours, 1981) from McGill University in Montreal. Member of the Bar of Quebec since 1985.

Masters degree in public administration from the Institut de Hautes Etudes en Administration Publique near Lausanne, Switzerland (2000).

Professional path:
In previous lives, I was a freelance journalist in New York City and Montreal, a lawyer in Montreal and Ottawa, Canada, Chief of mission for the UN in Slovenia (emergency humanitarian programme of the High Commissioner for Refugees in ex-Yugoslavia)... then, lastly, a consultant, freelance writer, editor, translator in Switzerland for the past 25 years.

Following my relocation to Switzerland in 1994 and while raising a family, I reoriented my professional activities, exploiting the communication and linguistic skills acquired through previous professional activities and stays in different countries. I set up my own business, Logos Communications, devoted to translation, editing and writing. I cater to small and medium businesses, government and non-governmental organisations, law firms, etc., directly or through agencies, mainly in the fields of finance, law and marketing
I specialize in the English to French pair, be it for France, Quebec (French Canada) or Switzerland, the three francophone regions where I have either lived, worked and/or studied and know very well.

Having practiced law for around 10 years (I presently hold the title of "retired lawyer" from the Bar of Quebec, Canada) and keeping continuously abreast of developments in various legal fields, I can rightly claim to be a specialist in legal, commercial and financial translation. Trained in both the civil and the common law traditions, I am particularly apt at transposing legal concepts from one legal environment to the other.

I work in a few other areas, those in which I have acquired a solid and proven practical knowledge, such as marketing, international politics, humanitarian aid, human resources, tourism, sustainable agriculture.

Driven by a passion for languages and writing, I cherish my independence as a freelancer and I cater to my clients with dedication.

I am enthusiastic about languages, meticulous, precise and trustworthy in my work.
