We work as a subcontractor for translation and localization agencies, focusing on the English<>Spanish language pair. Most of our clients are in the United States, UK and Canada.
CAPABILITIES
We can handle most file formats. In our offices we have several state-of-the-art computers with a large suite of applications such as all Adobe programs, all Macromedia programs, Quark, etc. Our equipment runs on Windows XP, and we have broadband connectivity through Cable.
We use CAT tools as needed, and can even compile a translation memory for clients upon request.
MULTILINGUAL DESKTOP PUBLISHING
We also provide multilingual desktop publishing in most languages. We have a dedicated site for our desktop publishing services, reachable at http://www.docdesignstudio.com or http://www.maquetar.com/en
QUALITY CONTROL PROCESS
We ensure quality in our translation process through a workflow of Translator-Editor-Proofreader on each project. Each document undergoes scrutiny by three pairs of eyes.
OUR TEAM
Our translators are all graduates from a five-year translation university career, with several years of professional experience. We assign projects to them according to industry-specialization.
Our desktop publishers are highly trained in InDesign, Quark, Pagemaker, Framemaker, Word and other applications. We have three shifts, which allows us to meet steep deadlines.
While we have a staff of 18 full-time employees, we are also flexible and scalable through a tried-and-tested network of contractors and freelancers.
PROJECTS
We routinely work with projects of 30,000 to 60,000 words. We've handled larger projects on occasion, but not as frequently. We also deal with smaller projects on a regular basis. I'd say our average project is in the 50,000 word range.
Some examples of projects we've done recently: A User's Manual for a Textile machine; User's Manuals for a Wireless Communications company; An Employee Conduct Guide for an American corporation.
RATES:
Our standard rate per English source-word is USD 0.08. We charge USD 0.09 when the content is highly specialized or extremely technical. We are currently implementing a sliding scale based on monthly volume.
We would welcome a dialog to ensure that we reach terms that are truly mutually beneficial. Our goal is to establish a relationship, not to "make a buck". Please let us know the scope of any specific project, the deadlines we'd be facing, and the conditions that, in your estimation, would make this a profitable and fruitful collaboration for you. |
