Since graduating with BA Joint Hons in French and Russian in 1994 I have always worked with languages in a variety of fields including education, manufacturing, import and export. In 2008-9 I studied translation from French and Russian into English at City University, London, and gained the Chartered Institute of Linguists' Diploma in Translation, with a distinction in the literature paper. In 2013 I successfully completed an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Portsmouth, as part of which I wrote a dissertation on the translation of contemporary children's literature. I have worked as a freelance translator since 2009, and specialise in the translation of literary, religious and music-related texts.
When I am not translating I enjoy spending time with my children, playing in a local orchestra, walking, and of course... learning new languages.
