I am a freelance translator from San Jose, California. I'm a native Czech speaker. Currently I'm working as a linguistic QA testing contractor for a major IT company in Silicon Valley. Besides this assignment, I translate, proofread and edit texts from English and German into Czech.
I earned a MA in Linguistics from San Jose State University, California in 2005 and a MA in Czech Language and Literature from Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic in 1998. I have worked as a certified translator for the County Court in the Czech Republic. I translated inspection reports in German consultancy company RWTUV. Furthermore, I have translated texts in the following areas: humanities, environmental science, botany, food science and nutrition, medicine, marketing and advertising. I have experience in proofreading, editing and phonetic transcription.
