I am a professional translator with over 15 years of
experience. My native languages are Russian and Ukrainian.

I am a qualified medical
interpreter with formal training through Liberty Language Services. I also hold
a Specialist degree in translation (English and French) and an MA in Journalism
and Mass Communication.

Over the course of my
professional career, I have worked on hundreds of translation and localization
projects for direct clients and language service providers in North America and
Europe.

My main areas of expertise
include legal, IT, and marketing translation. I also work extensively with
content related to advertising, PR, social sciences, international development,
and healthcare. In addition to written translation, I provide medical interpreting
services and support healthcare providers and organizations with accurate,
culturally appropriate communication.

Alongside traditional
translation, I offer machine translation post-editing, linguistic quality
assurance, and terminology management. I regularly review AI-generated or
human-translated content for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with style
guides and domain-specific requirements. I can translate documents, localize
websites, proofread and edit copy, compile project-specific glossaries, and
provide comprehensive language QA.

A few words about my
background. I received my first translation assignment at the age of 18 while
working with field offices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
and the Danish Refugee Council in Ukraine. Several years later, I became a staff
writer for the English-language newspaper Kyiv
Post, where I developed strong writing and editing skills and gained
in-depth knowledge of the social and economic issues I covered as a columnist.

In 2003, I was awarded a
Muskie Fellowship at the University of Georgia (USA), where I earned my MA from
the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

As a full-time freelance
translator, I have worked on numerous projects both as part of a team and in a
project management role. When required, I can quickly assemble a small team of
dependable, professional translators to support larger assignments.
