Bio

I am a freelance translator with over two decades of experience. I am bilingual French/Greek and have been living in Greece for the last 20+ years.

I have studied Applied Foreign Languages (English, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese), Italian philology, Tourism Business (English, Italian, German, Spanish, and Dutch), as well as social work.

As you can guess, languages are my #1 hobby. I have studied over three dozens of them, mostly European and Asian languages.

My fields of specialization are:

Languages, etymology, linguistics (textbooks, workbooks, apps, websites, etc)

Education

Conversation, letters, slang, collocations, humor, press articles

Music, live festivals, concerts (Eurovision song contest, American song contest, Canada Eurovision, Music Awards, lyrics, bios)

Human rights (ex-member of Amnesty international, member of Koinotopia and Citizens in Action, Greece)

TV production (shows, games, series, subtitles)

Sports and international competitions (world’s championships, Mediterranean Games, Olympics summer/winter - I have been lucky enough to live the 2004 Olympics from my home country, Greece), European Capitals of Culture, once again happy enough to have seen that in my home town Patra, back in 2006.

IT (software, hardware, programming languages)

Tourism and Hospitality (hotels, campings, B&B, restaurants, menus, local arts, sightseeing, etc).

Children literature

Minorities (migrants, LGBT, Roms, HIV, mental health, breast cancer)

Animals/pets (food, education)

Games and toys

Supermarkets, distribution, packaging, nutritional information, ingredients, etc.

Environment, smart cities, blue energy

Sex industry, sextoys, porn, STIs, prevention, cure, education, narcotics (prevention, education), medical cannabis

Nutrition

These are my main fields and I can deliver other topics upon request.

The languages I work from are English, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Catalan, Occitan (languedocien), Portuguese, Norwegian, Dutch, German and my TL is French but can sometimes accommodate Greek.

My rates are flexible (volume, degree of emergency, repetitions).

Like most of my colleagues, I am and will always be available for urgent and current matters such as Covid, the Ukrainian invasion, monkey pox, political crisis, etc).

In my free time, I am a member of several local NGOs, I learn programming, I would fancy developing my own dictionary or even a CAT tool. You may also find me playing with my cats, walking by the sea or learn languages, the last one is 100% guaranteed.

I enjoy working on long term projects as well as being part of a team.

I am also a fierce fan of lifelong training and I am always learning something new on Moocs.

I am always happy to chat with colleagues all around the globe.
