Years of translation experience: 9. Registered at ProZ.com: Aug 2012.
I am an Engineer with a passion for languages and technology. Born and raised in Brazil, where I went to college and received a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in Electronics and Telecommunications.
Inspired by my German grandfather, I learned the language and, as soon as I graduated from college, was offered a position at Siemens Telecommunications in Munich, Germany. It was a remarkable experience for me to spend time in Europe, have a closer look at history, and learn about their rich and diverse culture.
My next adventure with Siemens took me to the United States. Here, I went back to college part-time and graduated with a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering and a Minor in Business. While still working as an engineer, I became increasingly interested in becoming a translator. After all, Siemens was a huge corporation with global presence and most of the technical documentation had to be translated in several languages. I would always chose to read the instruction sets in their original language, as it was generally easier than dealing with a poor translation.
This is where it all started. I strive to write documents with a style that is clear, enjoyable to read, while staying truth to the original. I pay attention to detail and only deliver work that has been researched and proofread. I am proud of my work as a reliable translator and would love to help you achieve your goals.
Fifteen years of experience as an engineering professional and the last five working as a translator in Brazil, Germany and the U.S.A.
