Feb 1, 2024 (posted viaProZ.com): I had a fulfilled translation year, however, I am mainly doing pro-Bono jobs now as I was greatly deceived by a supposedly well-known agency in South America & elsewhere, stealing its translators with very low rates and very tight deadlines... and above all, which refuses to pay and/or no longer responds to various reminders... What a mess! Please, be careful when accepting new assignments, our TIME is our more valued asset!!!...more, + 14 other entries »

General Troubleshooting Tips
Make sure all clients and servers can see each other—that they are able to ping one another by both the NetBIOS name as well as by the IP address.
Make sure firewalls allow traffic.
Reboot servers and clients to make sure that all installation and configuration changes have been recognized by the systems.
Forensics Software-Specific Issues
E.C...: E.C... launches in Acquisition Mode
This issue indicates that E.C... has no license.
Within E.C... select ToolsÆ Options and make sure the User Key Path, Server Key Path, and Server Address are filled out (these fields should point to the locations of the license keys).
Check the firewall on the client and E.C... license server to make sure port 4445 is open.
Make sure the client can ping the E.C... license server.
FTK Lab: Browser launched by client cannot display User Interface
Make sure the client has MS Silverlight installed.
Make sure Oracle services have started on the server hosting the Oracle database.
FTK 1.8: 5000 object limit\trial version message
If you receive this message, FTK has no license.
Ensure that the network license server is working and has the FTK 1.8 licenses in place:
Open a browser window on the server hosting the network license service, and enter http://localhost:5555 into the address bar.
Observe whether or not the licenses are in place.
If they are not, you must install the licenses.
FTK 1.8: Cannot Access Temp File error appears on launch
Allow the user launching the application (or their Citrix session) to have access to the server hard drive OR run the application as an administrator.
Citrix Issues
Citrix: Applications won’t launch
Make sure all the services (particularly MFCOM and IMA) have started on the servers hosting XenApp.

Source text - English S. is moving fast. Consequently, it has a shortage of quality personnel, but to me it doesn’t compare with the gaps we have in the US and in many European countries. Authorities have always understood that company personnel have to learn on a permanent basis. Most of the time, company requirements are closely matched with workforce skills. And huge investments are made to reach the perfect match.
Translation - French S. se développe rapidement.
