About me
English is my mother tongue, and I am highly proficient in French and Italian, with a Bachelor's degree in both languages from the University of Lancaster. I am also knowledgeable in Japanese. During my studies I participated in the Erasmus program in 2012-2013. I spent a year living between Pisa, studying at l'Università di Pisa, and Rennes, studying at Université Rennes 2. In 2016 I spent time living in Japan as an English teacher, where I gained first-hand knowledge of a radically different culture and language.

I am now a Masters student in conference interpreting and translation studies at the University of Leeds. I already have experience in translation, both in a professional context for Booking.com when I was a customer service executive for French and Italian clients, as well as academically.

My main interests are video games, cinema, and literature, so it goes without saying that localisation of these three things is my specialty when it comes to translation. I am especially interested in translation of idioms, word play, and cultural terms, particularly from Japanese to English, as well as ensuring a balance between faithfulness to the source text and accessibility to the target audience.

If you want a natural, flowing document that is faithful to the source text and accessible to readers in the target language, that's what I excel at.
