Source text - English Over the last 20 years, Al Jazeera has gone from obscure outsider into a multi-language, multi-channel, multi-platform global media network. Throughout this period, there have been repeated arguments about whether the network—given its rare combination of rich resources, ownership model and a counter-hegemonic remit—qualifies as ‘mainstream’ or ‘alternative’, ‘professional’ or ‘biased’?
As discussed in this chapter, Al Jazeera, exemplified by its global English language news channel Al Jazeera English, represents an editorial mission and production strategies which support and promote the professional journalistic logic, at the same time as the channel questions and sets out to counter the professional practices of Anglo-American global news networks. It argues that AJE’s editorial project thus extends and challenges binary models of ‘alternative’ versus ‘mainstream’ journalism, representing a professionalized Southern alternative model. The chapter is structured as follows: It first introduces the concept of professional journalism, before it discusses AJE’s code of conduct, editorial mission and strategies in relation to professional ideals such as objectivity, balance and neutrality. Second, it analyzes AJE’s inbuilt critique of mainstream news values and practices in global news. In the concluding section, it discusses Al Jazeera English as a journalistic project beyond the dichotomy of alternative and mainstream journalism.

Source text - English Service Provider represents and warrants to COMPANY X that:
A. All Services provided under this Agreement and any Statement of Work (SOW) to this Agreement will be in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and guidelines, including without limitation, all applicable anti-corruption laws. Service Provider has and shall maintain all necessary licenses, authorizations, approvals, permits and registrations to perform its obligations hereunder.
B. Service Provider has extensive experience and expertise in the field specified in the SOW(s) and shall perform the Services in a diligent, professional and workmanlike manner consistent with the highest applicable industry standards.
C. The Services do not and will not give rise to any infringement or misappropriation of any patent, copyright, trade secret, trademark, or other intellectual property right of any third party.
Service Provider understands that Service Provider’s relationship with COMPANY X is one of confidence and that during the period of Service Provider’s engagements, Service Provider may acquire or may have already acquired knowledge of, or access to information which relates to the business, operations, products or plans of COMPANY X (or its clients) which is not known to the general public (hereinafter “Confidential Information”).
Service Provider agrees to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless COMPANY X and its Affiliates, and their respective employees, officers, and directors against and from all claims, suits, demands, investigations, damages, liabilities, judgments, losses, and expenses (including without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees and document production costs), arising from or attributable to the Services or any work product produced hereunder, or Service Provider’s negligence, willful misconduct, violation of applicable law or regulation, or breach of this Agreement. COMPANY X shall have the right to join any defense of any such claim at Service Provider’s expense and Service Provider shall not settle any claim hereunder without COMPANY X’s prior written approval, which approval shall not be unreasonably withheld or delayed.

justice and liberation. UNRWA at 70 engages the themes surrounding this UN Agency
and Palestinians beyond the logics of humanitarianism. The book brings together
scholars from Palestine and Israel, Lebanon, Qatar, the UK, Canada and elsewhere,
who specialise in the fields of politics, history, sociology and law, and are renowned
for producing critical research on the Arab region and in particular on the displacement
of Palestinians. This project follows previous co-published books by the
Palestinian Return Centre and the Al Jazeera Centre for Studies, which include World
