Source text - Spanish Su hijo/a participa actualmente en el estudio clínico ya que presenta un trastorno autoinmunitario en el cual se destruyen las glándulas que producen las lágrimas y la saliva (síndrome de Sjögren). El equipo del estudio le explicará en qué consiste este estudio de investigación. En los estudios clínicos solo se incluye a personas que deciden participar en ellos. Puede llevarse a casa un ejemplar de este documento para comentar su decisión y la de su hijo/a con su familia y sus amigos. También debe hablarlo con el médico de cabecera de su hijo/a. Si tiene alguna pregunta acerca del estudio o sobre lo que implica la participación de su hijo/a durante este, pregúntele al médico del estudio de su hijo/a o a un miembro del personal del estudio.
El estudio ha recibido el dictamen favorable de un Comité de Ética de Investigación con medicamentos (Comité de Ética de Investigación con Medicamentos de Galicia) y de la Agencia Española de Medicamentos y Productos Sanitarios, de conformidad con la legislación vigente, el Real Decreto 1090/2015, de 4 de diciembre, y el Reglamento (UE) n.º 536/2014, de 16 de abril, por los que se regulan los ensayos clínicos con medicamentos.
Debe saber que la participación de su hijo/a en el estudio es voluntaria y que puede optar por no participar. Si deciden participar, podrán cambiar de opinión y retirar su consentimiento en cualquier momento, sin que eso afecte a su relación con el médico de su hijo/a ni perjudique a la atención sanitaria del menor. Le informamos de que su hijo/a recibirá una hoja de información y un asentimiento informado adaptados a su capacidad de comprensión para que los firme.
Translation - English Your child is currently taking part in the clinical research study because your child has an autoimmune disorder in which the glands that produce tears and saliva are destroyed (Sjögren syndrome). The study staff will explain the research study to you. Clinical studies can include only people who choose to be in them. You may take home a copy of this form so that you can discuss your and your child’s choice with your friends and family. You should also discuss it with your child’s doctor. If you have questions about the study or what will happen to your child in the study, please ask your child’s study doctor or a member of the study staff.
The study has been approved by an Ethics Committee for Investigation with medicinal products (Comité de Ética de Investigación con Medicamentos de Galicia) and the Spanish Agency for Medicinal Products and Medical Devices in accordance with current legislation, Royal Decree 1090/2015, of December 4th, and European Regulation 536/2014, of April 16th, regulating clinical trials with medicinal products.
You should know that your child’s participation in the study is voluntary and that he or she may choose not to participate. If you decide to participate, you may change your decision and withdraw your consent at any time, without altering your relationship with your child’s doctor or causing any prejudice to your child's health care. Even though your child will no longer receive the study drug, your child may be asked by the investigator to remain enrolled in the study so that the study staff can follow up on the outcome of the pregnancy. The collection of data on the pregnancy and on the baby's health will be collected in compliance with Organic Law 3/2018 on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights If you or your child thinks she could be pregnant, now or at any time during the study and 30 days after her last dose of study drug, your child must tell the study doctor to receive adequate medical assistance. Your child has the right to be informed about the possible options available regarding her pregnancy, as you could find yourself in one of the cases referred to in the Organic Act 2/2010 on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Voluntary Interruption of the Pregnancy.
