Percent of Stretch on Power Stretch or Heal Roll

The most practical system is the pencil or wheel. Another method is the use of a tapeless measure. The tapeless measure has a wheel that rotates against the stock roll as it unwinds and measures film usage much like a speedometer. In using this system, the circumference is measured and the number of rotations counted. Multiply the circumference by the number of rotations. This will provide the number of feet of stretched film on the skid. Divide the difference in feet between stock roll reading, and feet of stretched film, by the stretched film reading for percent of stretch.
