insert OR information leaflet OR Indications Explanation: insert OR package insert Contexte : The essential information on a prescription - only drug is generally provided to the health professionnal through the product's package insert. This insert mus provide full disclosure; that is, it must contain a full and balanced presentation of the positive as well as the negative aspects of the drug product to enable the prescriber to utilise the drug most safely and effectively. Why not use the most simple, common-sense solution. Indications does the job, doesn't it? GDT, Internet |

information leaflet/user package leaflet Explanation: 1. INTRODUCTION 1.1. EEC Directive 92/27/EEC In 1992, the European Community issued Directive 92/27/EEC. This directive stipulated the inclusion in every medication package of full information leaflets , written in understandable language, in the Member States of the European Community, from January 1994 onwards. It would seem to be sanctioned by European Directives. The second term is also used extensively: 1.2 Motivation for the mandatory inclusion of understandable patient package inserts Patients are entitled to receive information on the nature of their medications. Any such information should be drafted in plain language, meant to be read by lay persons. The user package leaflet is not a do-it-yourself guide for the patient, but a tool in the relationship that exists between physicians, pharmacists and patients, designed to assist the patient in correctly taking the medication. In addition, the user package leaflet is meant to promote patient compliance and to provide him/her with detailed information on side effects so that he/she can respond adequately when confronted with them.
