Hi all,

Can anyone help me ? I am using Trados 2014. My client sent me a file in ttx format and after translation I couldn't export and sent the file in ttx as source format but xliff one.

Thank you in advance for your advice.

I have been using Studio 2011 and just recently upgraded to Studio 2015, and here I can´t find any option to Save as TTX or Export to TTX.

Converting to TTX Sep 8, 2015

Hi,

Please don't use the legacy converter for this it is not the solution you want. The legacy converter will convert the sdlxliff to a TTX format but when you return it to your client it will be completely useless for them! This tool is purely for going sdlxliff to TTX and back to sdlxliff. Used for anyone who needs to send the sdlxliff to someone using a CAT that cannot handle sdlxliff.

If you have been given a TTX by your client, opened it in Studio to translate it, then when you save the target file it will be one of two things:

1. The TTX
2. The original format before it became a TTX

So perhaps the original format was an XLIFF? You are given this option when you save a TTX to choose the format.

If you are getting an SDLXLIFF then this is most lilely because you are saving the file and not saving the target file.

.ttx file NOT translatable in Trados "Studio 2015 / works in Studio 2014 Sep 10, 2015

I received ttx files from a client from time to time.
When I was using Sudio 2014, they would open as "translatable " and I could save them (Save Target As" as a "TRADOStag document" and create a .ttx to send back to the client in the same .ttx format
IT IS NO LONGER working with Trados 2015.
The .ttx files are NOT "translatable "

This is very strange.

Studio 2015 can still process TTX files Sep 12, 2015

Hi Paul

There hasn't been any change in respect to TTX files in Studio 2015, they still can be processed as before.

When you say "it is no longer working", what do you mean by this? Just based on this statement, we can't guess what is going wrong. So, please tell us what error message you receive, it might then be easier to come up with a suggestion.

Anyway, there are two things you can already check:

Anyway, there are two things you can already check:
1. That your file has the file extension .TTX
2. That the file type "TradosTAG" is listed in "File - Options - File Types" and is checked.

Should it be unchecked, tick the checkmark and if it is missing run a repair of your Studio 2015 installation.

Can confirm this works Oct 7, 2015

I had the same issue. For some reason when upgrading to 2015, TRADOstag was removed only for some of my projects. Just go til File types and hit the warning link you will see. Mark TRADOStag and you are all good.
