curtail AND PREVENT Merci de vos r�ponses, tant mvzanten que ohlala, qui sont indubitablement correctes d'un point de vue litt�ral(je connais le sens du verbe "to curtail"), mais qui dans le contexte se heurtent au caract�re absolu de "to prevent". Ou faudrait-il s'�loigner du texte en introduisant un "voir": "semblent viser � restreindre, voir � emp�cher les manifestations..."?

Je crois qu'il faut prendre «prevent» à son sens premier de «prévention», ce qui est plus que limiter. Pour respecter la «manière française», on pourrait écrire «limiter, voire prévenir...»
