Discussion
TID approximates to the fraction of airborne material that enters the nose and mouth during the breathing, and is therefore available for deposition anywhere in the respiratory tract. BS EN481: 1993 defines TID as particles with aerodynamic diameters of less than 100 micrometres (�m).
RD - Respirable Dust
This approximates to the fraction of airborne material, which penetrates to the gaseous exchange region of the lung. (BS EN481: 1993 defines RD as particles with aerodynamic diameters of less than 15 �m).
