German term

vorantreiben

German to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
This term is often used in the sense of pursuing goals or programs, as in "Die Ausgliederung des Bereichs wurde weiter vorangetrieben, nachdem die Erlaubnis durch das Bundesaufsichtsamt vorliegt." Any ideas? "advanced"? "moved forward"? "moved ahead"?
Proposed translations (English)

Both "advance" and "move forward" should be just fine.

Muret-Sanders also gives
(Angelegenheit) speed s.th. up
accelerate
accelerate or stimulate the progress of
advance
mit Energie vorantreiben - press
push forward

um die Sache voranzutreiben - to speed things up a bit

This gives you even more options. I suppose it really depends on the overall context/style as to which one you choose. For the sentence you quote above, I'd probably go with s.th. like "advanced further" or "was further accelerated", but pretty much any of these should work.
