Senior English-to-Slovak translator and reviewer with 20 years of professional experience in translation, revision, linguistic QA and localization. My primary specialization is life sciences, particularly clinical research, medical devices, laboratory diagnostics and pharmaceuticals.
Clinical research has represented a major part of my professional work for more than 12 years. I have translated and revised a broad range of clinical trial documentation on projects for major international CRO accounts. My experience includes informed consent forms (ICFs), clinical trial protocols and amendments, clinical trial agreements (CTAs), patient diaries and questionnaires, site-facing documentation, instructions for devices used in clinical trials and other study-related materials.
I also have extensive experience in medical devices, in vitro diagnostics (IVD) and laboratory systems with approximately 15 years of continuous work on projects for a major international laboratory diagnostics company. This has included instructions for use (IFUs), technical documentation, laboratory and diagnostic content and medical device software.
My pharmaceutical and healthcare experience includes patient information leaflets (PILs), summaries of product characteristics (SmPCs), clinical trial product labeling and other pharmaceutical documentation.
A substantial part of my work goes beyond translation itself. I regularly perform bilingual revision, editing, proofreading, MTPE and linguistic QA, including final quality checks and review of other linguists' translations. My work also involves terminology databases, glossaries, translation memories, client-specific linguistic resources and style guides, as well as resolving linguistic and terminology queries and implementing client feedback.
Alongside life sciences, I have significant experience in technical and engineering translation and localization covering IT/software, industrial equipment, machinery and technical documentation. My project history includes work for major international technology and engineering accounts.
Earlier in my career, I worked as a localization project manager. I also have a scientific background in physics, including several years of scientific research and university teaching.
I am particularly interested in long-term cooperation involving specialized translation, revision and language quality work where subject matter knowledge, terminology consistency and careful final review are important.
