Source text - French L'H 2S est un gaz dit acide qui réagit facilement avec les métaux, ce qui induit deux
problèmes majeurs dans les unités d'exploitation des énergies fossiles.
Tout d'abord, d'un point de vue technique, ce gaz attaque les équipements et les
tuyauteries entraînant un coût de maintenance et d'entretien non négligeable.
De plus, d'un point de vue chimique, l'hydrogène sulfuré est un poison pour les
catalyseurs qui sont constitués en général de métaux ou d'oxydes métalliques
(les procédés catalytiques sont nombreux dans le raffinage et la pétrochimie) et
qui agit sur leur sélectivité et activité.
En effet, le soufre s'adsorbe fortement sur les métaux et de ce fait empêche ou modifie
l'adsorption des réactifs, de plus l'incorporation de l'élément soufre dans des phases
métalliques favorise le phénomène de frittage responsable d'une perte d'activité
catalytique. La combustion de l'H 2S conduit à la formation de dioxyde de soufre (ou
anhydride sulfureux) qui constitue le polluant atmosphérique dont l'impact sur l'ensemble
des êtres vivants est de loin le plus préoccupant.
Ce gaz se transforme rapidement dans l'air en acide sulfurique, très hygroscopique, qui
joue un rôle essentiel dans la formation des fumées acides, brouillards propres aux
milieux urbains des régions à climat tempéré froid où sévit une forte pollution de l'air.
Le dioxyde de soufre est aussi responsable des pluies acides. Ces pluies acides sont
responsables du dépérissement à vaste échelle des forêts de conifères, et de
l'acidification des eaux des lacs situés sur terrains cristallins.
La pollution de l'air par le SO 2 est ainsi particulièrement néfaste pour les végétaux. Le
dioxyde de soufre pénètre dans l'organisme par inhalation. Ce gaz fortement soluble dans
l'eau est rapidement hydraté, dissocié en sulfite et bisulfite, et absorbé dans le tractus
respiratoire supérieur (nez, pharynx).

catalizzatori che sono costituiti in generale da metalli o da ossidi metallici
(i processi di catalizzazione sono numerosi nella raffineria e nella petrolchimica) e
agisce sulla loro selettività e attività.
Infatti, lo zolfo viene notevolmente assorbito dai metalli, cosa che impedisce o modifica l'assorbimento dei reagenti, inoltre l'incorporazione dell'elemento zolfo nelle fasi metalliche favorisce il fenomeno di sinterizzazione responsabile di una perdita di attività catalitica. Subject as herein otherwise expressly provided any of the Trustees may exercise or join or concur in exercising any or all of the powers and discretions hereby or by law given to the Trustees notwithstanding that he may have a personal interest in the mode or result of exercising any such power or discretion but any of the Trustees may abstain from acting except as a merely formal party in any matter in which he may be personally interested as aforesaid and may allow a co trustee to act alone in the exercise of the powers and discretions aforesaid in relation to such matter.
19. TRANSACTIONS WITH OTHER TRUSTS
The Trustees may in the execution of any of the trusts hereof or in exercise of any of the powers hereby or by law given to them sell property or lend money to or buy property or borrow money from or carry out any other transaction with the trustees of any other trust or the executors or administrators of any estate (not being a trust or estate under which any Excluded Person shall have any beneficial or prospective interest whatsoever) notwithstanding that the Trustees or any of them are or is the same persons or person as those trustees executors or administrators or any of them and where the Trustees are the same persons as those trustees executors or administrators the transaction shall be binding on all persons then or thereafter interested hereunder though effected and evidenced only by an entry in the accounts of the Trustees.

17. Two methods of shoe construction are of particular importance for this case:
cement-lasted construction and Strobel-stitched construction
Cement-lasted construction
18. In cement-lasted construction, the upper of the shoe is stretched over the last (the wooden or plastic form used for forming the shoe). The stretched upper is cemented to the insole with adhesive cement in an overlapping margin called the lasting margin.
19. The lasting margin causes an uncvenness around the edges of the sole which can be eliminated with a tiller layer of cork, felt or similar material.
Strobel-stitched construction
20. In this construction the upper is stitched to the insole before lasting, making a bag into which the last is forced. Shoes made in this way are less rigid.
21. In both types of construction the sole can be applied as a prefabricated unit using adhesive in a pressing operation on the last. Alternatively the sole can be attached by a direct moulding process in which the sole material is injected
