I finished my formal education in 1987 with a Doctoral degree in Information Technology, but it doesn't mean I stopped studying and learning. With a passion for languages I had worked as a full time professional freelance translator and interpreter in Czechoslovakia between 1985 and 1991, specialising in technical translations, mostly in the IT area. I worked as an interpreter, including many assignments in simultaneous conference interpreting. Since moving Australia in 1991 my work was confined to translations and some subtitling and transcribing of audio on part time basis as a freelancer while pursuing a career in IT. At the end of 2016 I finished full time work and have increased the amount of work I do as freelance translator. I worked on transcripts of interviews at the UEFA Europe Cup 2017 and as conference interpreter at a digital currency conference in Dubai in November 2017. I am happy to take jobs in any area, but prefer to work with Information Technology, education, sustainability, business, and online/digital marketing related materials. I will be available for work in Europe from mid-2019 - contact me for details if interested, I plan to work on translations and conference interpreting but I have a strong background in teaching and happy to run short courses in business English on individual basis or for corporate clients.

I don't compete on price so asking me for my "lowest rate" won't give you a response - I have no set pricing structure, and am happy to quote on a per job basis. If I like the content I will give you a good price; a difficult assignment is often a great way to challenge myself! I am very flexible for interpreting jobs, and have no problem with travel at short notice.
