French term

nouvelles technologiques de l’information et d’Internet (NTCI)

French to English Bus/Financial IT (Information Technology)
I've tried various combinations of what this could possibly be in English. I can translate it literally, but I wondered whether it's something that does have a proper term.

"Télétravail
Forme d’organisation du travail qui permet à un salarié de travailler chez lui en utilisant les nouvelles technologiques de l’information et d’Internet (NTCI)."

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks!
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): df49f (X)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

It's official! It is New Technologies of Communication and Information. Thanks to your tip, skolotaja, I finally tracked down some backup - the United Nations has a taskforced dedicated to NTCI aka New Technologies of Communication and Information.

Thanks everyone for your night owl help.

agree cmwilliams (X) : NTCI must be an English acronym, otherwise it would be NTII

Thanks!
agree Bourth (X) : If the abbreviation is indeed NTCI, it has to be! NICT in English (New Info. & Communication Tech.). I think someone has got their wires crossed; "communication" means "Internet" here (mostly, amongst other things).

I agree :) Thanks!

That's true. Of course the French version isn't the original, as I understand it, so anything goes :)

Obviously, what the French acronym stands for has been changed, and originally included a word that starts with a C. I'm guessing it was some sort of inappropriate anglicism derived from the word "computer."

New Information and Communication Technologies

I think it is rather : les nouvelles technologies de l'information et de la communication (NTIC).
In English it is: New Information and Communication Technologies.

It is an expression highly used during the World Summit on The Information Society(WSIS).

e.g: to bridge or to narrow the gap or the digital divide in the field of new information and communication technologies.
In French: réduire la fracture digitale dans le domaine des nouvelles technologies de l’information et de la communication
Example sentence:

to bridge or to narrow the gap or the digital divide in the field of new information and communication technologies.
