Spanish term or phrase: Ministerio del Ramo
The complete phrase is "Direccin de Transporte Areo del Ministerio del Ramo". The context is Colombian. My question is, what is "el Ramo"? Thanks in advance.

English translation:Trasportation Ministry
Explanation:
I would dare to say it that way because it means the "corresponding ministry". Don't worry about "el Ramo", I've heard that expressions many times and it is understood as the ministry of the area you are talking about. Hope it helps...

applicable ministry?

Explanation:
Are you sure Ramo starts with a capital R? If not, it could be "ministerio correspondiente", i.e., applicable ministry, corresponding ministry, ministry involved...
Hope to help.

"el Ramo" is "the field" and hence anablis is right.

Explanation:
This would then be "Directorate of Air Transport in the Ministry of Transportation" - note, however, that it is BAD STYLE to repeat such things in Spanish.
