Swedish term

vallgrav (in context)

Swedish to English Tech/Engineering Engineering: Industrial pharmaceutical industry
Topic: automated aseptic assembly and packaging line

Example:
"Kontrollera att inga sprutor finns i och runt omkring maskinen:
• Lyft på plåtar i vallgraven"

I do have a picture but it's still not obvious to me what "vallgraven" is. Anyway, it is on (or near) "rundbord", and other things nearby are "pålastning glasrör" and "kassation glasrör".

'moat/fosse' or 'water ditch'

The purpose of the water ditch is not very clear but I guess it has a diluting (defending) function if spills occur. (Same thinking as with a moat)
Note from asker:
I actually don't think there is any water in it. I might just call it "ditch".
Peer comment(s):

agree George Hopkins : Drain is probably the right answer.

disagree Michael Ellis : All Mats' options sound too agricultural for a pharmaceutical context.

drainage channel

You might consider this term, as it seems to be widely used in indoor industrial setting. I searched 'clean room drainage channel' and found there is a lot of specific equipment for this, including various forms of 'channels'.
