Non credo vi sia un traducente ufficiale in italiano per questo specifico TO, ma traducendo qualcosa tipo "donazione su base elettiva//(programmata) in/per elezione/selezione" si riesca a rendere compiutamente il senso dell'originale - "...una donazione da vivente può essere programmata in elezione, ..." - www.discat.unige.it/chirurg/nuno_50.html

Come ben sai è importante mantenere l'anonimato tra ricevente e donatore e solo in casi eccezionali è possibile conoscerla. E' per questo che parlerei di donazione eccezionale, o tutt'al più "mirata" (comunque tenendo le "").

Parlando con un medico, mi è stata indicata una soluzione traduttiva diversa rispetto a quella che ho indicato e che sicuramente è anche più attendibile rispetto a quanto si trova su Internet.
"Designated" in questo caso è usato all'americana, cioè intende non "designata", ma "Diretta", ovvero una donazione in cui il donatore ed il ricevente hanno uno scambio diretto, nel senso pratico del termine. È un modus operandi molto raro, anche perchè la legge, sia italiana, sia americana, non ammette la possibilità di scegliere il proprio donatore. La donazione diretta è quindi riservata a quei momenti d'urgenza in cui non c'è il tempo e la possibilità di accedere al sangue delle banche del sangue e, per necessità, si deve attingere al sangue compatibile più vicino.
