To generalize estimates of totals to the entire year, multiply by 4.5, the ratio of the length of the study period to the length of the year (365 days / 81 days).

No logro entender del todo la segunda parte de la frase... es decir, hay que multiplicar por 4,5 la razón...
No sé si se dice la razón "entre" X y XX, o la razón "de" ... o de otra manera.
