Press release for a yacht race. The saying appears in the section where a skipper is explaining his choice of co-skipper for a particular race. The text describes the successful career of the skipper who has won tons of races and then goes on to say that the choice of Y as co-skipper is no accident, that his success makes him able to make a wise choice.

"Le choix est évident...un équiapge serein ou chaque poste est confié à un marin qui matrîse parfaitement sa fonction. La victoire rend intelligent et X en profite donc pour officialiser son choix : ce sera donc Y, un voisin, finistérien également."

Not difficult to understand, but no nice equivalent comes to mind... and I need it FAST!
