Completely bilingual French / (UK) English. I own houses in both France and Britain and have divided my time between the two countries since childhood.
Native ability in both languages, with 8 years' experience in international Marketing / PR Management, before becoming a freelance translator. My copywriting skills are of a very high standard in both English and French, and many of my regular customers in this field are prestigious, high-profile organisations.
On the basis of my previous work experience/cultural activities, I mainly translate in the following fields:
public relations / press releases
journalistic features / opinion articles
business plans / tenders
sales documentation / marketing materials
clinical trials / drug reports
cosmetics / parapharmaceuticals
alternative medicine / nutrition
I have also translated magazines and newsletters for various organisations (including regular features and news articles for 'current affairs' websites) and offer copywriting / rewriting services
in both languages
Many of my customers are blue-chip companies and references can be provided, on request...
After taking a BSc course in International Management in the UK, I obtained an MBA equivalent from a top Paris Business School, majoring in Marketing and International Development. Member of ProZ since May 2001
Following my graduation I worked in the pharmaceutical industry, in a marketing role, before moving to an industrial group, where I progressed into a marketing management position.
Over the next 5 years I worked as PR / Marcomms (Marketing Communications) Manager for 2 large international groups, before setting up my own freelance translation and copywriting activity.
In addition to my work in translation, I am currently studying part-time for a doctorate in naturopathy (alternative medicine). I am also enrolled in a certified training programme to become a qualified "doula" (natural childbirth advisor) and volunteer as a breastfeeding counsellor.
My other hobbies include sailing, genealogy, music (singing), organic gardening and cooking.
