Zulu to French Other Poetry & Literature

I am translating African children's book into French.
I came across this animal "imbulu" and I am wondering whether there is an equivalent in French.

Here's the summary of the book :
Nonkungu was going to visit her uncle and her mother gave her a beautiful beaded skirt to wear. On the way to her uncle's village, Nonkungu meets a girl who asks to try on the lovely skirt. When they exchange clothes Nonkungu sees the girl's tail and realises that she is really an imbulu!
