English term

folding sailor

English to Dutch Tech/Engineering Mechanics / Mech Engineering
"The bottom portion of the folding sailor 1 is in contact with the generally central portion of the web W in the width direction, whereby the web W is folded in two so that the first side edge W1 and the second side edge W2 are aligned with each other."

This is part of a patent I'm doing. I know what the thing does: it is a metal plate placed vertically above a moving web that is to be folded lengthwise, i.e. it helps keeping the centre of the web down while the sides are moved upwards to have them coincide. (I hope this is clear)

Googling resulted in nothing. I suspect there is something wrong with the term in English, although it is repeated in this exact form.

My (poor) suggestion is "vouwplaat". I would be very grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.
