La plupart du temps:
1-Le comité est là pour donner son avis
2- Il n\'a pas les yeux bandés (quoique pour certains cas FM a peut-être raison) mais je pense qu\'ici c\'est au figuré- On ne donne pas toutes les données au jury/comité pour éviter qu\'il ne se fasse influencer,
souvent accouplé avec \"indépendant\", \"extérieur\", etc...
Il y a peut-etre une traduction française standard pour ça..

NB: la traduction ci-dessus n\'est pas à prendre au pied de la lettre.
Le point fondamental est que le comité est \"tenu dans l\'ignorance\" de quelquechose qui pourrait influencer sa décision.
Il faut voir le contexte. Il peut s\'agir d\'un ou plusieurs facteurs (tels que âge, sex, ethnicité, médicament, histoire médicale,etc..)

ALSO = to deprive somone of understanding/judgement/perception.
Ce que revient à dire que le Comité sera soit privé de jugeotte (mais la phrase citée en exemple est: X was blinded to the truth) soit privé du droit de regard.

Donc j'en déduis que cela veut dire que le Comité serait NEUTRALISE car il me semble que si cela avait été les yeux bandés on aurait dit "blindfolded"
Voilà une explication un peu brouiloon mais mes idées ont évoluées en la donnant......
