English term

clutches and leg of a raptor

English to French Science Zoology Birds of prey
I have a doubt. I thought "serres" were the actual clutches or claws of a raptor but have been told that a leg of a hawk (traditionally called an arm in falconry) is called a serre. Can someone please help and clear this up?

Thanks!

I am not sure about the right answer, I found mixed definitions: at http://dictionary.cambridge.org/define.asp?key=4596&dict=F&l... clutch is a synonym of claw and is translated "griffe".
