Spanish term

con más estrecheces

Spanish to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature memoirs
Context:

Empresas fabriles que atizaron el fuego, que impartieron tibieza material y espiritualmente a los sueños menos holgados, **con más estrecheces,** pero tal vez con alas mejor fortalecidas para alcanzar estrellas...

The "empresas fabriles" are tobacco, sugarcane, and pottery, three industries that were very important in the life of a particular town in Puerto Rico in the early- and mid-20th century.

And yes, it's a sentence fragment in the original.

Thank you in advance.

Thanks, Jane.

Thanks to all. I don't think I've ever asked a question that was harder to grade. All of you helped me understand the sentence; some of you helped me with the previous questions which also had a bearing on this one. My final version will probably use elements from several answers; I only wish I could distribute the KudoZ points. Thank you, everyone.

following the other part of the sentence,

... the less-plentiful dreams, the most limited ...

... the less-ample dreams, the most restricted ...

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "I had to get the noun from Natalia, but I think your phrasing, "the most limited" works the best for me in this context. "The most modest dreams, with the most limited resources...". Thank you very much."

I think it´s a superlative rather than comparative.
