Source text - English 'European XXX Federation' Statute
I. Name, Objectives, Address
§1. The herein established association will be named "European Folk Art and Craft Federation”. Each member has the right to modify the original English or French name to their official language.
§2. The headquarters of the Federation is situated at present in Linz, Austria. The postal address of the Federation is the office of the Secretary General elected.
§3. The objective of the Federation is to preserve and develop craft as a culture and business and to promote the interchange of experience. In order to achieve the objective, the Federation shall promote the interchange of experience among its members, organise meetings, conferences, official webpage and exhibitions and take further steps to promote its common cause.
Membership
§4. Membership is available for national organizations and institutions which promote traditional arts and crafts in their respective countries. If a country has no appropriate national organisation, or if a national organization declines membership, the Federation may provisionally invite representation from another organisation with similar objectives, regardless of whether or not such organization has national status. Qualification for membership depends on whether the objectives and activities of an organisation coincide with those of the Federation. The statutes of member organisations must give clear priority to an idealistic approach over a profit-making approach. Regular business firms may not become members. Organization wishing to join must submit a written application for membership to the Board.
§5. Organisations can also become observing members. They do not have the right to vote. No membership fees are collected from observing members. The Members´ General Assembly can elect Honourable Members recommended by the board.
§6. Beginning and termination of membership: legal and natural persons which accept the targets of the Federation can become members. They are proposed by the board and elected by the general assembly with a majority vote.The membership terminates with the death of a natural person or with retreat by free decision in case of organisations.
The board has to be informed in written form about the termination of membership three months before the end of the calendar year. The board can terminate the membership on occasion of serious reasons, including not paying the annual fee for two years.

I. Názov, ciele, adresa
§1. Týmto dokumentom založená asociácia ponesie názov ‘Európska Federácia pre XXX‘. Každý člen má právo pozmeniť pôvodný anglický alebo francúzsky názov do svojho oficiálneho úradného jazyka.
§2. Ústredie federácie sa nachádza v Linzi, v Rakúsku. Korešpondenčná adresa federácie je adresa kancelárie zvoleného generálneho sekretára.
§3. Cieľom Federácie je zachovávať a rozvíjať ľudové remeslá v rámci kultúry a obchodu a propagovať výmenu poznatkov. V snahe dosiahnuť tento cieľ má Federácia povinnosť propagovať výmenu poznatkov medzi svojimi členmi, organizovať stretnutia, konferencie, exhibície, spravovať oficiálnu web stránku a podnikať ďalšie kroky na podporu svojich zámerov.
Členstvo
§4. Členstvo je dostupné pre národné organizácie a inštitúcie, ktoré propagujú rozvoj tradičných ľudových umení a remesiel vo svojich krajinách. Ak krajina nemá zodpovedajúcu národnú organizáciu, alebo národná organizácia členstvo odmietne, Federácia môže provizórne prizvať zastúpenie z inej organizácie s podobnými cieľmi, bez ohľadu na to či má daná organizácia národný status. Spôsobilosť pre členstvo záleží na tom, či sa ciele a aktivity danej organizácie zhodujú s cieľmi a aktivitami Federácie. Stanovy členských organizácií musia dať jasnú prioritu idealistickému prístupu pred prístupom prinášajúcim zisk. Bežné obchodné spoločnosti sa nemôžu stať členmi. Organizácie žiadajúce o členstvo musia zaslať predstavenstvu písomnú prihlášku o členstvo.
§5. Organizácie sa taktiež môžu stať pozorovateľskými členmi. Tí nemajú právo hlasovania. Pozorovateľskí členovia neplatia členské poplatky. Valné zhromaždenie členov môže zvoliť čestných členov na odporúčanie predstavenstva.
§6. Započatie a ukončenie členstva: členmi sa môžu stať právnické a fyzické osoby, ktoré akceptujú ciele Federácie. Tí su navrhnutí členmi predstavenstva a zvolení valným zhromaždením nadpolovičnou väčšinou hlasov. Členstvo končí smrťou fyzickej osoby, alebo odstúpením členstva vlastným rozhodnutím v prípade organizácií.
Predstavenstvo musí byť písomne oboznámené o ukončení členstva tri mesiace pred koncom kalendárneho roka. Predstavenstvo môže ukončiť členstvo na základe vážnych dôvodov, vrátane neplatenia členských poplatkov po dobu dvoch rokov.

In Barcelona, during all those last weeks I spent there, there was a peculiar evil feeling in the air — an atmosphere of suspicion, fear, uncertainty, and veiled hatred. The May fighting had left ineradicable after-effects behind it. With the fall of the Caballero Government the Communists had come definitely into power, the charge of internal order had been handed over to Communist ministers, and no one doubted that they would smash their political rivals as soon as they got a quarter of a chance. Nothing was happening as yet, I myself had not even any mental picture of what was going to happen; and yet there was a perpetual vague sense of danger, a consciousness of some evil thing that was impending. However little you were actually conspiring, the atmosphere forced you to feel like a conspirator. You seemed to spend all your time holding whispered conversations in corners of cafés and wondering whether that person at the next table was a police spy.
Sinister rumours of all kinds were flying round, thanks to the Press censorship. One was that the Negrín-Prieto Government was planning to compromise the war. At the time I was inclined to believe this, for the Fascists were closing in on Bilbao and the Government was visibly doing nothing to save it. Basque flags were displayed all over the town, girls rattled collecting-boxes in the cafés, and there were the usual broadcasts about ‘heroic defenders’, but the Basques were getting no real assistance. It was tempting to believe that the Government was playing a double game. Later events have proved that I was quite wrong here, but it seems probable that Bilbao could have been saved if a little more energy had been shown.

Počas tých posledných týždňov čo som strávil v Barcelone, visel vo vzduchu zvláštne zlovestný pocit – atmosféra podozrenia, strachu, neistoty a zastieranej nenávisti. Májové boje zanechali po sebe nenapraviteľné následky. S pádom Caballerovej vlády sa definitívne dostali k moci komunisti a starosť nad internými záležitosťami bola odovzdaná komunistickým ministrom. Nikto nepochyboval o tom, že rozdrtia svojich politických oponentov, kedykoľvek sa im naskytne najmenšia príležitosť. Zatiaľ sa nič nedialo, ja sám som nemal ani hmlistú predstavu o tom, čo sa bude diať. Aj napriek tomu pretrvával navôkol sústavný pocit nebezpečenstva, vedomie nejakého hroziaceho zla. Akokoľvek málo ste konšpirovali, atmosféra tohto miesta vás donútila cítiť sa ako konšpirátor. Vyzeralo to, ako keby ste všetok svoj čas trávili v zastrčených kútoch kaviarní vedúc konverzácie šeptom, rozmýšľajúc, či osoba pri vedľajšom stole je policajný špión.
Vďaka cenzúre tlače sa všade šírili zlovestné klebety. Jednou z nich bolo, že vláda Negrína-Prieta plánuje skompromitovať vojnu. V danom čase som bol tomu náchylný aj veriť, keďže fašisti tlačili na Bilbao a vláda očividne nerobila vôbec nič pre jeho záchranu. Baskické vlajky boli vyvesené po celom meste, dievčatá štrngali príspevkovými pokladničkami v kaviarňach a správy chrlili bežné spravodajstvo o „hrdinských obrancoch“, ale Baskovia sa nedočkali žiadnej reálnej pomoci. Bolo pokušením veriť, že vláda hrá na obe strany. Neskoršie udalosti dokázali, že som sa zásadne mýlil, ale je pravdepodobné, že Bilbao mohlo byť zachránené, ak by sa vyvinulo trochu viac snahy.
