Utilisation :
- Démarrer le moteur avec précaution en respectant les instructions du fabricant et en maintenant les pieds éloignés de l’(des) outil(s).
- Arrêter le moteur quand la machine est sans surveillance.
- Marcher, ne jamais courir avec la machine.
- Tirer la machine vers soi ou inverser le sens de marche (si disponible) avec beaucoup de précautions.
- Conserver la distance de sécurité par rapport aux outils rotatifs, donnée par la longueur du guidon.
- Ne pas placer les mains ou les pieds près ou sous des éléments en rotation.
- En cas de :
- vibration anormale,
- blocage,
- problème d’embrayage,
- choc avec un objet étranger,
- détérioration du câble d’arrêt moteur (suivant modèle),
- Arrêter le moteur immédiatement (si le câble d’arrêt moteur est coupé, actionner la commande du starter comme décrit au § “démarrage moteur” pour arrêter le moteur), laisser la machine refroidir, débrancher le fil de bougie, inspecter la machine et faire effectuer les réparations nécessaires par un réparateur agréé avant toute nouvelle utilisation.
- Travailler uniquement à la lumière du jour ou dans une lumière artificielle de bonne qualité.
- Ne pas utiliser la machine dans des pentes supérieures à 10° (17%).
- Travailler les pentes dans le sens transversal, jamais en montant ou en descendant.
- Sur les terrains pentus, bien assurer ses pas, changer de direction avec beaucoup de précautions.

What is a ‘Carbon Footprint?
The term owes its origins to the idea that a footprint is what has been left behind as a result of an individual's activities. A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact human activities have on the environment in terms of the amount of green house gases produced, measured in units of carbon dioxide. The total related and cumulated impact is taken into account which is considering direct emissions and also any prior process that is linked to an activity, for example the raw material extraction, energy generation, transport and also disposal/end of life processes.
The carbon footprint is always specific. In other words it is related to a product, a service or it can be per capita. The ‘Carbon Footprint’ of an EU citizen is currently 10,7t/a (source: EuroStat). In comparison the per capita footprint in South Africa is 9,2t/a, in the US: 19,4t/a and in India: 1,2t/a (sources: WRI, IMF). Scientifically this expression is incorrect as the ‘Carbon Footprint’ actually refers to emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) not to ‘carbon’(C) emissions.
Defining a Carbon Footprint
The carbon footprint can be seen as the total amount of fossil carbon dioxide (CO2) and other greenhouse gases (calculated as CO2) emitted over the full life cycle of a product or service. Normally a carbon footprint is usually expressed as a CO2 equivalent (in kilogrammes or tonnes).
What is the difference between fossil and biogenic CO2?
Fossil CO2 is the off-gas attributed to burning fossil fuels such as oil, coal or gas.
Biogenic CO2 is the carbon dioxide from burning renewable biomass, crops or organic waste. This emission is considered to be carbon neutral as the carbon dioxide generated is exactly the amount that was bound from atmosphere by photosynthesis.
What can be done to reduce a carbon footprint of a product?
First of all the ‘carbon footprint’ needs to be determined using a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) methodology.
Two examples to explain why this needs to be done:
- When you use a litre of diesel or petrol in your car, the carbon footprint of this litre fuel is not only the carbon dioxide emissions that are generated by using it in your car. Carbon dioxide was emitted before already to get this litre fuel in your tank: It starts at the oil well which had to be explored, drilled. The crude oil is pumped to tankers that transport it to refineries where energy is needed and other raw materials are added to produce diesel or petrol which is then transported to the filling station which then also needs energy to operate and pump the litre of fuel finally into the tank of your car.

Ο όρος οφείλει την καταγωγή του στην ιδέα ότι κάθε δραστηριότητα ενός ατόμου αφήνει πίσω της κάποιο αποτύπωμα. Το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα είναι ένα μέγεθος μέτρησης της επίπτωσης που έχουν οι ανθρώπινες δραστηριότητες στο περιβάλλον σχετικά με την ποσότητα αερίων του θερμοκηπίου που εκπέμπεται, και μετράται σε μονάδες διοξειδίου του άνθρακα. Λαμβάνονται υπόψη όλες οι συσχετιζόμενες και σωρευτικές επιπτώσεις, που σημαίνει ότι μετρώνται τόσο οι άμεσες εκπομπές όσο και όλες οι έμμεσες εκπομπές από τις διαδικασίες οι οποίες προηγούνται μίας δραστηριότητας. Για παράδειγμα, η εξόρυξη πρώτων υλών, η παραγωγή ενέργειας, οι μεταφορές, όπως και οι διαδικασίες απόρριψης ενός προϊόντος και η διαχείρισή του μετά τη λήξη της διάρκειας ζωής του.
Το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα είναι πάντοτε συγκεκριμένο. Με άλλα λόγια, συνδέεται με ένα προϊόν, μια υπηρεσία ή μπορεί να υπολογίζεται κατά κεφαλήν. Το «Αποτύπωμα Άνθρακα» ενός πολίτη της Ε.Ε. υπολογίζεται σήμερα σε 10,7 τόνους το χρόνο (πηγή: EuroStat). Το κατά κεφαλήν αποτύπωμα άνθρακα στη Νότια Αφρική είναι 9,2 τόνοι το χρόνο, στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες 19,4 τόνοι το χρόνο και στην Ινδία 1,2 τόνοι το χρόνο {πηγές: Ινστιτούτο Παγκόσμιων Πόρων (WRI), Διεθνές Νομισματικό Ταμείο (IMF)}. Από επιστημονικής άποψης, ο όρος είναι λανθασμένος, καθώς το «Αποτύπωμα Άνθρακα» στην πραγματικότητα αναφέρεται στις εκπομπές διοξειδίου του άνθρακα (CO2), και όχι στις εκπομπές άνθρακα (C).
Καθορισμός του Αποτυπώματος Άνθρακα
Το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα μπορεί να θεωρηθεί ως η συνολική ποσότητα διοξειδίου του άνθρακα (CO2) ορυκτής προέλευσης και άλλων αερίων του θερμοκηπίου (τα οποία υπολογίζονται ως CO2) η οποία εκπέμπεται κατά τον πλήρη κύκλο της ζωής ενός προϊόντος ή μίας υπηρεσίας.
Συνήθως το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα εκφράζεται ως ισοδύναμο του διοξειδίου του άνθρακα (CO2) (σε κιλά ή τόνους).
Ποια είναι η διαφορά ανάμεσα στο CO2 ορυκτής προέλευσης και στο CO2 βιογενούς προέλευσης;
Το CO2 ορυκτής προέλευσης είναι το αέριο το οποίο εκπέμπεται κατά την καύση ορυκτών καυσίμων, όπως το πετρέλαιο, ο γαιάνθρακας ή το φυσικό αέριο.
Το CO2 βιογενούς προέλευσης είναι το διοξείδιο του άνθρακα το οποίο εκπέμπεται κατά την καύση ανανεώσιμης βιομάζας, υπολειμμάτων καλλιεργειών η οργανικών αποβλήτων. Αυτή η εκπομπή θεωρείται ότι έχει ουδέτερο ισοζύγιο άνθρακα, καθώς η ποσότητα διοξειδίου του άνθρακα η οποία εκπέμπεται στην ατμόσφαιρα κατά την καύση είναι απολύτως ισοδύναμη με την ποσότητα διοξειδίου του άνθρακα η οποία δεσμεύεται από την ατμόσφαιρα κατά τη φωτοσύνθεση.
Τι μπορεί να γίνει για να μειωθεί το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα ενός προϊόντος;
Πρώτα πρέπει να καθοριστεί το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα χρησιμοποιώντας μια μέθοδο Ανάλυσης Κύκλου Ζωής (ΑΚΖ).
Ακολουθούν δύο παραδείγματα που εξηγούν γιατί πρέπει να γίνει αυτό:
- Όταν καίτε ένα λίτρο βενζίνης ή πετρελαίου με το αυτοκίνητό σας, το αποτύπωμα άνθρακα δεν αναφέρεται μόνο στην εκπομπή διοξειδίου του άνθρακα η οποία προκλήθηκε από την καύση αυτού του λίτρου καυσίμου. Η εκπομπή διοξειδίου του άνθρακα ξεκίνησε πολύ πριν φτάσει αυτό το λίτρο καυσίμου στη δεξαμενή καυσίμου του αυτοκινήτου σας. Ξεκινά από την πετρελαιοπηγή και τη διαδικασία ανεύρεσης και άντλησης του πετρελαίου. Το ακατέργαστο πετρέλαιο διοχετεύεται μέσα σε δεξαμενόπλοια για να μεταφερθεί στα διυλιστήρια, όπου θα καταναλωθεί ενέργεια για την επεξεργασία του και θα προστεθούν και άλλες πρώτες ύλες ώστε να παραχθεί βενζίνη ή πετρέλαιο κίνησης. Στη συνέχεια, η βενζίνη ή το πετρέλαιο κίνησης θα μεταφερθούν στα πρατήρια υγρών καυσίμων, τα οποία επίσης θα καταναλώσουν ενέργεια για να λειτουργήσουν και να διοχετεύσουν αυτό το λίτρο καυσίμου στη δεξαμενή καυσίμου του αυτοκινήτου σας.

I am a native Greek freelance translator with an MA degree in Professional Translation and a Minor in Audiovisual Translation from the I.T.I.R.I. of the Marc Bloch University, Strasbourg, France. I also hold an MA in Fine Arts from the School of Fine Arts of Saint Etienne, France.
Right after my graduation from ITI-RI, in June 2006, I was recruited as a permanent in-house translator and subtitler in the translation and subtitling agency LUMIERE COSMOS COMMUNICATIONS in Athens. In January 2008 I was promoted to Project Manager. I served in that position for one year, until December 2008, when I decided to continue my career exclusively as a freelance translator.
From March 2009 up to now, I work part time as a freelance Localization Test Engineer for the Finnish software company Symbio. This post helped me to master the peculiarities of localization as well as technical and IT translation.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
I have studied English in private schools since my childhood for more than 12 years. I further enhanced my knowledge of English language during summer courses in England and through my academic studies in translation.
My fluent French and a deep understanding of the French culture come as a result of an extended period of living and studying in France.
