Source text - English For molecular imaging purposes, radionuclide-based techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET) and single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). γ-ray emissions are the basis for SPECT and PET. For both modalities, radiopharmaceuticals are administered that can be detected by a camera. Unlike MRI, SPECT and PET images are acquired over a nominally low background signal and require little signal amplification since the gamma rays have energies in the megavolt range. SPECT and PET are quantitative techniques, which is an advantage over other modalities such as MRI and optical imaging .SPECT utilizes a camera to detect a dosage of γ radiation thatis emitted from the tissue of interest upon administration. Radionuclides such as Tc-99m, I-131, and Ga-67 are typically administered and left to circulate in the blood. Attaching these radionuclides to a nanoparticle platform with both targeting ligands and drug for use as a theranostic platform aids in directing it to appropriate tissue areas. After the nanoparticle platform has accumulated, gamma detectors areemployed and rotated around the body, which can aid in pinpointing the location that is emitting the largest concentration of γ rays. Further, this can provide a 360-degree image, and combinations of these images can produce three dimensional images of the area. Advantages of using SPECT include the fact that it is quantitative which allows for precise measurements, little background interference, requires no signal amplification, less expensive than PET, long half-lives of radionuclides, multiple radionuclides can be detected at once, and has high sensitivity.

I started learning English when I was around 13 by the help of various entertainment media such as movies, video games, music and later books. After graduating from Foreign Language class in high school, I went to college in Russian Interpreting department. Graduated in 2010, I have conducted translations in many different work fields, ranging from novel translations to technology, art and medical sectors, albeit not in Russian, but in English language. I currently work in one of the most esteemed hospitals in Turkey, Anadolu Medical Center, an affiliate of Johns Hopkins Medicine, and specialize in medical field, grasping an understanding of medical codes, jargon and inevitably Latin words which are heavily employed in any medical document.
I also participated in a couple of volunteer works for the last 15 years, ranging from Star Wars database translations to Evrim Ağacı group, which is basically a science and technology entity, publishing latest news in numerous scientific fields.
