My Capabilities - Who am I?
My name is Rita Damo. I have formal education in Modern Languages. Additionally I have training in terminological research. I am a technical and scientific translator with twelve years experience. As Professional Translator, I offer you the experience, expertise, and skills that your translation project requires. Accurate, edited technical and scientific documentation. Your final documents will be written in precise, clear, and concise Spanish language. On-schedule. On-budget. I am happy to work on weekends. Late nights and weekends are just part of the job. You can rely on me to translate your very urgent projects and have them translated in time.

What I do?
I translate technical and scientific documents. I translate high technology, science, biomedical, pharmaceutical, legal, commercial, and marketing material. I translate websites. With state of the art terminology database management, advanced translation memory and glossary development tools (TRADOS Computer Assisted Translation): I use leading-edge technology for speed, accuracy, and economy. I work keeping all your documents intact using DTP platforms. I work in all major word processing and desktop publishing platforms as well as multi-media. In addition, I integrate TRADOS, the world's leading translation memory application, to keep your terminology consistent, and guarantee economic revision management.


How I do translations, and what I offer to you?
I am an independent specialist-freelancer-who do most of the translation work in Venezuela-and overseas, too. What does it mean? If the translation of your document requires a high degree of specific subject expertise, and you use any outside resource, it's almost certain it will be entrusted to an independent translator, like me. As independent translator, I have enough training and experience. I deliver the work precisely on schedule. I produce consistently literate, intelligent, accurate translation-and still respond amenably to good editing.

I use CAT (Computer Assisted Translation) tools. A technology holds your translation in memory, and leverages it for revision management, while it creates and expands a glossary. In skilled hands, it will save you time and money. CAT tools make it possible to build a client- and project-specific glossary as the translation memory is created, and then to manage text revisions or updates in documents. As important, with little additional cost or effort, CAT manages changes considered necessary for specific markets (localization). As Professional Translator, I use CAT to assure consistency within a document and from one document to the next.

My translations are as precise, clear, and unambiguous in Spanish as they are in the original English. I write only in a universal Spanish that all people from any Spanish-speaking country are perfectly capable to understand.
