Chinese term

制造商 vs. 制造厂家

Chinese to English Bus/Financial Business/Commerce (general)
这辆车的制造商或制造厂家是哪个?

Is there a difference between 制造商 and 制造厂家? I am tempted to use only "manufacturer", but I am afraid the client might have a reason for doing this. Can anyone advise?

Thanks in advance.

Manufacturer vs. Manufactory

Although the second word is not used an awful lot in English it is probably a better way of defining between the two. The first one emphasises the commercial side of business while the second emphasizes the production side

manufacturer

"manufacturer" is correct.

agree Karl Gluck : I would say because there is an "or" between the two terms in English, you could translate them as the same. Or "manufacturer or producer"

FYI

FYI: This is not so typice. Tye typical use is 厂商,which we render in "vendor". We do use "制造厂” of which the equivalent is "manufacturer".
