I think a word like this makes it clearer that the missing "person" in the system is a "business entity"...for example, a store/a company/an agent

مسئول فروش
I tried to use a frequent and formal equivalent.

Well, I suppose طرف فروش may also be used. In my opinion, however, it mostly describes organizations and countries, or generally an entity bigger than a single person.

I also suggest عامل فروش, or عامل خرید و فروش.

Discussion
Regarding "acquirer" take a look at this explanation of the whole electronic system
http://www.frbatlanta.org/filelegacydocs/erq106_degennaro.pd...
This gives a good explanation of "acquirer" or "merchant acquirer"
See the bottom of page 30. The diagrams also show how the system works. Acquirers and merchants work together, business-to-business.
پذیرنده is probably a good suggestion...maybe also تحویل گیرنده
Thanks for your remarks.
Than what about "acquirer"?
I think it is like to be opposite of "merchant", but I'm not sure about that.
Best
If these merchants were only "sellers" then فروشنده would be OK, but I think that in the broad usage of "merchant" in your case, "merchant" includes both buyers and sellers who are in the network operated by the software your translation is referring to. I hope this helps clarify the situation.
Given this, and given that you are looking for one word that covers both "buying and selling" I would suggest تاجر or بازرگان
Bests
Merchant should have at least one source currency supported
