German term

Fehlerausprägung

German to English Tech/Engineering surface inspection systems
Veränderungen in der Fehlerausprägung reduzieren die Systemleistung

I can't get my head around this one and the deadline is looming....

It has to do with how pronounced the defect is so that the inspection system can recognise it. I need something short and sweet. I can't use intensity as the surfaces are inspected by cameras, and light intensity is constantly being mentioned.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Discussion

Hi Alison I need to get the level of how pronounced the defect is, if its not high enough the system won't recognise it.
You are working late ;-)

Changes in the level of fault tolerance reduce system output

A 'Fehler' is not necessarily a 'defect'. can be a simple misread or temporary snafu or misapplication. 'Fault' is more all-inclusive than 'error' (error message is something specific), 'fault' is more 'generic'
