Explanation:
Stranggranulation (strand cut) means that the extruded strands (spaghetti) are cut, normally after having passed through a cooling trough, whereas Kopfgranulation (die cut or face cut) means that the extrudate is cut by a rotating knife immediately on exiting the die plate and normally in the presence of water or water spray.Because in the latter, water is usually present, one can also use the term 'underwater pelletisation' in English or 'granulation sous l'eau'.
