Grammatical Analysis
Sentence: 她家裏的電話是二三四五一五號,不是二三四五五一號。
1st Attempt: Her telephone number is not 234 515; it is 234 551.
Question One: Is this standard written 中文? Obviously her telephone is not a number, but then neither is a telephone conversation a telephone. Any wisdom here?
Question Two: Then too, what happened to the 碼 in 號碼? Does it not work with telephone numbers?
As always you are welcome to comment on other parts of the sentence, as well.

Yes it is standard written 中文. 電話 is a short form of 電話號碼 and is used as so whenever it is followed by a number or the context clue is evident. 電話 can also mean telephone conversation in Chinese in the same sense that I telephoned Tom last night means I had a telephone conversation with him.
號 and 碼 share the same meaning and are in many cases interchangeable, only that the former is more colloquial, popular and vernacular, while the latter is a learned classic word and more ofenly used in academic studies, such as 密碼 or code.

Acknowledgement: My thanks to haifengwu and wherestip's for their response. Certainly, haifengwu's answer helped to clear up the problem of the multiple uses of 電話, 號, 嗎 and 號嗎. I hope that I have captured them properly in my explanation on the Tsong Kit website.
Best wishes from the land of no mountains surrounded by sea on many sides."
